Project Hello World
In remote and marginalised parts of the world, Project Hello World mobilises communities to build solar-powered outdoor Internet kiosks which are preloaded with educational software and applications. These WiFi-enabled ‘Hello Hubs’ are designed to withstand extreme weather conditions and are energy autonomous, which means they can bring connectivity and education to some of the most isolated regions.
Each Hello Hub is equipped with state-of-the-art technology including solar panels, satellite network connectivity, rugged waterproof keyboards and touch panel monitors, as well as cameras and audio equipment. Hello Hubs provide an opportunity for children who are denied access to education to teach themselves, play with friends online and share their voices. With the Hello Hubs, communities can create a brighter future for themselves and discover what it means to be a global citizen.
