Using technology to ensure and improve education in crisis contexts

Rumie Tablet

Rumie is a non-profit technology organization that uses today’s low-cost technology to bring high-quality, free digital educational content to youth and learners in remote or underserved communities, content that is made available for use without the Internet.

Rumie tablets are fully interactive tools, able to store thousands of books, apps and videos. Local partners can bring their own content or choose from the free learning resources in the Rumie LearnCloud. Tablet features include:

OFFLINE FUNCTIONALITY: Rumie tablets operate when there is little or no access to the Internet
Content lockdown capabilities: Allows access to only pre-selected content, restricting non-educational distractions for learners

DATA ANALYTICS: Collects usage data even when offline, enabling NGOs and educators to measure the technology’s impact on learners

FLEXIBILITY AND SCALABILITY: Supports education in different environments and educational contexts (e.g. in-classroom education, informal learning environments)
